Interaction has always been at the very heart of Nozstock and this year for the very first time there is a competition for Nozstockers to design and build the centrepiece of the festival which will be displayed in the middle of the lake. The winner will receive two free festival passes, a feature on the Nozstock website and inclusion in this year’s festival programme and publicity campaign. In addition filmmakers are encouraged to send in their short films with the pick of the crop being shown in the hugely popular cinetent. Last year winning films were screened alongside programming by BBC Film Network, onedotzero and Encounters 2008 award winners so it is a great opportunity to get your films out there.Set within the idyllic grounds of a 17th century farm Nozstock retains a family friendly atmosphere that people return to year on year. From the pear tree lined orchard to the converted barns, secret areas, cinetent, coppice and glistening lake guest promoters play host to a rich musical tapestry of punk, dubstep, drum and bass, psy-trance, ska, acoustic, classical, folk and blues. In addition there are a whole host of treats for the kids in this year’s all new Little Wonderland kids area. Here the little ones can learn how to make carnival costumes, puppets, listen to stories or just kick back for a well deserved nap.The natural topography of the site is truly spectacular allowing you to get lost in all manner of hidden dingles and dells Dance the night away in a bull pen, don your best gloves and top hat for the cabaret, laugh uncontrollably to world class comedians such as Stephen Frost (Who’s Line Is It Anyway, The Players) in the comedy tent, learn stage combat or watch the out of this world light show in the gnarled trees of the coppice - Nozstock has it all A quick journey down the rabbit hole brings you out into the mad-capped world of the Nozstock Village with the Farrell Circus Troupe workshops, juggling, puppetry and roaming Rainbow Collectors Other delights include a vintage tractor display, acoustic stage, cinetent and some huge surprises to be announced very soon.

After supporting fellow Louisvillians My Morning Jacket on their Fall tour, Wax Fang entered the famed Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN with engineer Doug Easley (Pavement, Sonic Youth) to begin recording their self-produced La La Land. Shortly after being handpicked by Spoon to open for them in Nashville, TN, Wax Fang returned to 'Music City’ to mix La La Land with renowned indie producer, Mark Nevers.La La Land expands the dense, spacey layers echoed on Black & Endless Night into a whole new psychedelic universe. Opening track 'Majestic' finds the band channeling their inner Pink Floyd through delicate sound collages and soaring guitar riffs, held together with the mortar of the Ratterman/ Heustis rhythm section and christened with Carney’s vivid lyrics and uncanny form of delivery. The air swells like a swarm of 10,000 bees on 'At Sea.' The thunderous pop of 'The Doctor Will See You Now' unites the noble families of Led Zeppelin and Brian Eno through an unadulterated marriage of sound. The instrumental fury of 'Avant Guardian Angel Dust' bends your mind into an aural oblivion while the warm, acoustic tingle of 'Oh, Recklessness' recalls your coming of age.The May 10th, 2010 release of La La Land on Absolutely Kosher Records in the UK & Europe coincides with Wax Fang’s invitation by Pavement to play the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival However it is not the UK’s first taste of Wax Fang The BBC’s 'Introducing’ feature heralded La La Land as a 'progressive but poppy album', this was the result of Huw Stephen’s discovery of Wax Fang at SXSW After being mesmerized by Wax Fang’s wall of sound on stage, the BBC DJ interviewed Wax Fang for his Radio 1 show where he proclaimed Wax Fang to be one of the best live bands at SXSW This prompted the inclusion of Wax Fang’s 'World War II (Pt 2)' from La La Land on his 'Music Sounds Better With Huw' digital compilation The Guardian was also quick to catch onto Wax Fang’s prowess by picking the trio as one of the Top 5 Buzz bands at SXSW.

1 DAY is a high octane caper through a day in the life of an inner city hustler. The film follows Flash (Duffus) whose day gets worse when he finds out he suddenly has to repay a debt to his big head, Angel (Yohance Watson), and he has to find the money fast. As more and more people get on his case and the clock starts ticking, Flash is persued by everyone from a rival gang, the police, three irate baby mothers and his granny.1 DAY features some great special features including a Directors Commentary, Graffiti - a 3 minute segment looking at Graffiti artists turning a wall into 1 DAY inspired artwork, Music Scenes and Handworth Calling (inside story making of the film).
